Samsung KS8000 4K TV
Samsung’s line of SUHD televisions has received rave reviews, and after seeing the KS8000 in action for myself, I can now see why.
Unlike some of the other SUHD TVs Samsung put out, this one is a flat panel design. If you don’t like curved televisions but want all the other advantages, features and technologies of a SUHD TV, this is definitely one you need to look at.
All of Samsung’s SUHD televisions feature 4K resolution, which is four times better than Full HD. This TV is no different and includes some of the other technologies Samsung uses to produce their industry-leading picture quality.
Along with the 4K resolution, I am also impressed with what Samsung did with Quantum Dot technology and HDR, or High Dynamic Range. HDR, in particular, is used by the motion picture industry to bring out details you normally wouldn’t even notice. Combining that with Quantum Dot technology gives this TV the ability to produce up to a billion different color combinations.

The color is overwhelming, either. In fact, there’s a very nice balance in the contrast of both well-lit scenes as darker scenes. Both look amazing and both offer sharp, crisp details.
I also like their technology for fast-moving scenes like those from an action movie or sports. Through some pretty powerful hardware and software, the Samsung KS8000 is able to keep up with fast-moving images to virtually eliminate blurriness.
It is probably worth point out this TV also looks great. I started out with it on a stand, but it now hangs on my wall and it looks awesome. The bezel around the screen is tiny and is barely noticeable. Plus, the TV is so sleek and thin it tends to look more like a decoration or piece of art, than something used to watch TV and movies.
Although not as powerful as other Samsung TVs, the audio in the KS8000 is admirable. The audio system puts out 40 watts through a couple nice speakers and a woofer. The audio is able to hit all the ranges of sound and pairs nicely with the picture quality.
Finally, the Smart TV capabilities are definitely worth noting. One of the cool things about Samsung, and you won’t find this in many other TVs, is the ability to play games from the cloud, without the need for a gaming console. If you are a gamer, I know you will love this feature.
It is also very easy to pair mobile devices with the TV. There’s a free app I downloaded, which made it possible to watch TV content on my mobile device and I could also display content onto the TV.
The remote control allows you to control every aspect of the TV. You can even use voice commands! If you connect other devices, such as lights, locks or a thermostat, the TV will act as a hub for home automation – all controlled by the same remote.
With the exception of 3D capability, this TV pretty much has everything you could ask for in a top-of-the-line device. The 4K resolution, Quantum Dot technology and support for HDR produce images I haven’t seen from other brands. The sound, while not superior, is definitely nice and makes the entire viewing experience amazing.
Throw in voice recognition, console-free gaming and a host of other Smart TV features, and you get a television that is sure to find itself in many homes around the world.
With this Samsung TV, you can expect superior image quality, decent audio and excellent Smart TV features. The SUHD designation from Samsung means you get 4K resolution, plus Quantum Dot technology and support for HDR content. All that comes together to produce some of the best picture quality you will see.
The Samsung KS8000’s audio is nice, but not as powerful as other Samsung TVs. It produces great sounds though and will not take away anything from your viewing experience.
If you like Smart TV, you will love what Samsung has done with this, and other, SUHD televisions. Voice recognition, streaming online content and connecting mobile devices are just a few examples of what you can do with the TV.
This Samsung KS8000 isn’t curved like some other SUHD televisions, but the flat panel design looks great. Put it all together and you get a TV with industry-leading picture quality and Smart TV features other TVs wish they had.
