LG UH9800 8K TV
LG’s newest offering to the world of high tech televisions will simply blow you away. With the release of the UH9800 Smart TV, the company has given the world it’s first 8k HDR TV. With Ultra High Definition that is so high some reviews have described the picture quality of this technical masterpiece as looking more real than reality itself.
To get you started, it is a smart TV, running LG’s webOS 3.0. The new version of this operating system promises quite a lot that should get any tech connected geek excited to play with it. It allows viewing two channels at the same time on a split screen, or splitting between one channel and another input source like blu-ray or your PC. You’ll be able to play music through the included music app without turning on the TV, and it even integrates to allow you to monitor and communicate with smart appliances using the loTV app. WebOS 3.0 really deserves a complete review all on its own.

The new LG 98UH9800 offers eight times the resolution of current high definition standard sets and twice the resolution of 4k TVs, coming in at an eye popping 7680 x 4320 pixels. If those numbers don’t mean a whole lot to you, all you really need to know is that that more pixels there are in a screen, the better the picture quality becomes. And as far as pixels go, this is the top of the line right here.
In addition to the mind bending resolution, LG has managed to pump up the color capability on these new sets as well. With their ColorPrime Plus technology, which is a snappy name for better color filters with additional color phosphors, makes these televisions capable of hitting 125% of the Rec 709 color standard and over 90% of DCI (Digital Cinema Initiative) colors.
Another important aspect of this television is how it connects to your video sources. The UH9800 is the first television to fully incorporate a Super MHL connection. If you’re not sure what that is, don’t worry too much about it for now. Super MHL allows for the transfer of 8k resolution digital video over a wired connection. One drawback to higher resolution is the fact that it requires more data to produce a picture as the resolution increases. So with a record resolution on these TVs, it also requires a record amount of data to generate the pictures, and so, you need a connection that can handle all of that data. Super MHL handles this for us. Not only does it make it possible to transfer video at the native 8k resolution, it makes it possible to do it at up to 120 frames per second! You’ll be able to connect your new cinematic centerpiece to absolutely anything that plays video.
If you are a cinemaphile and want to take your viewing experience to the next level, this new series from LG will not only get you there, it will get you ahead of the game completely. We’re not just talking about the top end of technology with these televisions, we’re talking about something that goes beyond and is actually ready for the next step up. The UH9800 is not catching you up to what’s out there, it’s actually putting you ahead of the curve. When everyone else is scrambling to upgrade so they can view the next level of digital video, you’ll be ready, waiting and good to go without lifting a finger.
The UH9800 is not just a TV for movie lovers or tech geeks. It’s not for someone who just wants a new high end smart TV. It is for the serious cinemaphile. It is for those that take their video technology seriously and won’t settle for a second best. Top of the line, 8k ready and ahead of the future.
You couldn’t ask for more, and you wouldn’t find it even if you did! These TVs will make you regret every other television you’ve ever owned. You will experience video and movies like you’ve never seen them before.
